How the furniture hire industry has changed over the years
If we go back just a few years to when our parents used to take us to parties, our memories of the kinds of tables and chairs that we used to see there are probably of very basic folding chairs with cheap tables, and not too much concentration on style.
To be honest you wouldn't have taken too much notice of the furniture, but you will no doubt remember the old cheesy songs of the time like Kung Fu Fighting!
But the simple fact is that furniture hire has changed since the 1970's, and is now a much more sophisticated business worth millions of pounds per year. This is great news for the consumer as the choice of furniture has increased dramatically with a lot of furniture hire companies offering classic designer pieces of furniture by respected and well known designers such as Le Corbuisier.
You will find that when you begin your research into exactly what can and can't be hired, many of the firms specialise in certain areas, for example garden furniture or lounge furniture. Some will offer fairly basic event tables along with chairs, while others will have a comprehensive range of furniture hire available.
Most of them should have a comprehensive website that has images of the various products that they have available, along with descriptions of the products to help you to make your choice before you place your order. It is thanks to to the internet that we can now peruse so many different websites from the comfort of our own home, or armchair, and can even complete the entire buying process without even walking out of the door.
This is something that back in the old days we certainly didn't have, and so maybe that's one of the reasons that there was a limited choice of furniture on offer.
